My career as a designer started over 28 years ago following graduation from the University of Delaware’s Visual Communication program in Newark, Delaware. That educational experience also included participation in a Design Exchange Program at the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom.
I was fortunate to learn from great mentors and leaders early in my professional journey. From Burlington, VT to Alexandria VA to Washington D.C. to Wilmington, DE, and Lancaster, PA, I worked with many talented creative directors, art directors, designers, writers, photographers, illustrators, and project managers along the way. Each, in their own way, helping me better understand and master principles and methods for effective visual communication.
With changes in technology came changes in my skill set.
I’ve since spent the last 17 years focused in user experience (UX) research, user interface (UI) design, interaction (IxD) design, and product design/management.
The combination of my visual communication experience, along with my passion in customer/user research, heuristics, human-computer interaction, usability, accessibility, interface design and front-end development has given me the opportunity to work with truly great organizations on challenging and rewarding projects.
I reside in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with my wife and two sons. In addition to enjoying travel with my family, I am an NHL fan (#Flyers), and on occasion, I attempt to play guitar without disturbing the neighbors.
Currently, I work with the incredible product team at ClearGov as a Senior User Experience / Product Designer, doing our best to create easy-to-use cloud-based software that helps governments budget better.
